The afternoon of January 12, 2020 was a tragic awakening to our countrymen, especially those living around Taal Lake in Batangas, as the restive Taal Volcano erupted. Lots of our fellowmen,  specially Batangueños  & Caviteños were affected by the eruption and was required to remain in evacuation areas for an extended period of time. Halchem thru Mapua alumni organizations, FOMI & NAMA, came to their aid and donated various basic needs and personal necessities.
